About
Waterfall Lodge No. 4139 is a relatively small, active Lodge in Chertsey, Surrey. Consecrated in 1920, it is part of the Province of Surrey under the United Grand Lodge of England, with more than a century of continuous Lodge life behind it.
Our history
Waterfall Lodge was consecrated on 29 October 1920 at the Imperial Restaurant, Regent Street, London. Waterfall later made its home in Chertsey, where the Lodge continues to meet today.
More than a century of Lodge history sits between those two points, and further material from the Lodge records will be added here over time.
The Waterfall way
Every Lodge develops a character of its own. At Waterfall, members are encouraged to take part, learn and give things their best.
Ceremonial work matters, but perfection is not the point. Freemasonry is something we choose to do in our spare time, and it should remain rewarding and enjoyable. We learn by having a go, helping one another and becoming more confident over time.
That balance, taking what we do seriously without taking ourselves too seriously, is something members sometimes think of as the Waterfall way.
Lodge life
Waterfall holds four regular Lodge meetings each year. Formal meetings and ceremonies are followed by the Festive Board, where members and visitors dine together.
Lodge life extends beyond those four evenings. Lodge of Instruction, social occasions and charitable activity all form part of Waterfall throughout the year. Some social events also involve partners, families and friends.
Lodge of Instruction
Lodge of Instruction is an important part of life at Waterfall. It is where members practise the ceremonies, learn from one another and become more confident with Lodge work.
Just as importantly, it is where members spend regular informal time together. Much of the friendship within the Lodge develops there, and members are encouraged to attend whether or not they have a particular part to practise.

Royal Arch
The Royal Arch has a close relationship with Craft Freemasonry and is open to Master Masons who have completed their Third Degree.
